University of Maryland (UMD) Department of Aerospace Engineering senior Teaghan Doran received a 2024 Wings Foundation Scholarship. The Wings Club Foundation Scholarships support outstanding students pursuing advanced education and future careers in aviation, aeronautics, and astronautics.

Doran is in the space track program in aerospace engineering and currently a Systems Engineering Intern at AST SpaceMobile. She is also a member of the Systems Engineering sub team for the Comet Driver Senior Capstone project.

Outside of her engineering studies, Doran is also an active member of UMD’s Gymkana Troupe, where she also coaches for their youth program.

“It was an honor to attend the Annual Wings Club Awards Gala. I had the opportunity to meet like-minded students and gain insights from inspiring leaders in the aviation industry,” said Doran. She attended the gala with her father, whose career as a U.S. Army pilot originally inspired her to study Aerospace Engineering.

Looking ahead, post-graduation, Doran plans to work in the aerospace engineering industry as a systems engineer.

The Wings Club recognized Doran, and her fellow 2024 scholarship recipients, during the organization’s Annual Awards Gala hosted in New York City on October 18, 2024.

Founded in 1942, The Wings Club provides educational programs in the field of aviation, fosters opportunities to pursue an education in the field of aviation, and supports charitable organizations that use aviation to help those in need.
