The Combined-Bachelors'/Masters' Program is open to top Aerospace Engineering Undergraduates who are interested in pursuing an accelerated graduate-level degree. Students can choose to pursue one of the following paths:

  • Combined-Bachelors'/Masters' of Science in Aerospace Engineering (Research-Based)
  • Combined-Bachelors'/Masters' in Engineering in Aerospace Engineering OR Robotics (Non-Research Based). Online-Only Program Options Available for M.Eng ONLY

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Be at least Junior-Level status in the department (advanced Sophomores and Seniors are considered on a case-by-case basis)
  2. 3.6 GPA minimum required for B.S./M.S. and 3.5 GPA minimum required for B.S./M.Eng
  3. Statement of Support from an Aerospace Engineering Faculty Advisor (Combined B.S./M.S. only)
  4. Have a Proposed Plan of Study that meets Combined-Bachelors'/Masters' Program criteria for program of choice

All students should apply using the new Combined-Bachelors'/Masters' Program in Aerospace Engineering application. This application is for the Combined-B.S./M.S. and B.S./M.Eng.


Schedule

  1. Submit the Combined Bachelors'/Masters' Program application to the Department. If choosing the B.S./M.S. (Research Based), faculty support is required for applying.
    The ideal time to apply is Spring Semester of Junior Year.
  2. If completing B.S./M.S. (Research Based), finalize thesis research timeline for summer semesters with your Faculty Advisor.
  3. Complete all required Clark School and Graduate School Forms for double-counting or Future Graduate Credit courses.
  4. Submit Graduate Application to the Graduate School during Senior Year and complete approved Combined-Bachelors'/Masters' Coursework.
  5. Finish remaining Graduate Courses (Non-Research Based) and Masters' Thesis Research under the supervision of a Faculty Advisor (Research-Based).
  6. Submit Request for Transfer or Inclusion of Credit for Masters' Degree Form to the Graduate School in Fifth Year of Study.

Additional Details

  • All applications must include a Proposed Plan of Study approved by your Faculty Advisor (Research-Based) or the Graduate Director (Non-Research Based). All applications will be reviewed by the Undergraduate and Graduate Directors for approval.

  • All required Clark School and Graduate School forms associated with double-counting or Graduate Credit Only courses must be submitted before classes are taken for Combined Program.

  • All Combined Bachelors'/Masters' students must submit a formal application to the Graduate School for the Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering (Research-Based) or the Master of Engineering in Aerospace Engineering or Robotics (Non-Research Based). The Master of Engineering application will be reviewed by the Maryland Applied Graduate Engineering admissions office.

  • Research Funding for B.S./M.S. Programs only are subject to faculty advisor resource availability and is not guaranteed for any parts of the program. Combined-B.S./M.Eng. Programs are not eligible for faculty funding.
