The National Weather Service is coming to campus to teach a free class on the basics of storm spotting and severe weather safety. The class covers severe weather such as thunderstorms and tornadoes, what to do in a weather emergency, and what to report to the National Weather Service. At the end of the class, you will have the option of signing up to become a storm spotter as a Skywarn volunteer. If you want to attend, then please register online for the Skywarn Basic class at UMD on April 20 at https://www.weather.gov/lwx/skywarn
