Our History
Founded in 1953, Sigma Gamma Tau has grown to include chapters at many of the leading aerospace engineering programs across the United States, including our chapter at the University of Maryland.

Sigma Gamma Tau membership is by invitation to those who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement.
Eligibility
Academic requirements
- Top percentile of aerospace engineering students by GPA
- Top 1/5 of sophomore class
- Top 1/4 of junior class
- Top 1/3 of senior class
- Demonstrated integrity and character
- Commitment to the aerospace profession
